Dr Paula Cunnea is an Advanced Researcher and Group Leader based in the Ovarian Cancer Action Research Centre, in the Division of Cancer at Imperial College London on the Hammersmith Hospital Campus. Paula leads a research group with a gynaeoncology surgeon Professor Christina Fotopoulou, focused on investigating tumour heterogeneity in ovarian high grade serous carcinoma, developing different ex vivo 3D patient derived models of ovarian cancer such as organoids and explants, and applying different bioengineering approaches to cancer research. Paula runs multidisciplinary projects in the area of chemotherapy resistance in ovarian cancer and development of novel therapeutics to target chemotherapy and PARP inhibitor resistance.
