Pedro Rodriguez Cutillas

Pedro Rodriguez Cutillas is a biochemist working at the interface between proteomics, cancer research, cell signalling and data science. He carried out his PhD studies (2004) and postdoctoral training (2004 to 2007) at UCL and is an independent Group Leader since 2007 and full Professor since 2020 at Barts Cancer Institute, London.

His research focuses on the development of computational methods to investigate biochemical pathways associated to drug resistance and the heterogeneity of pathway activation in cancer cells. In total he has published more than 100 original research articles (Pubmed), 27 of which as corresponding author. In addition to academic outputs, his research has a strong translational focus. He is the main inventor in 14 patent families and co-Founder and Non-Executive Director of two spinout companies derived from his work: Activioimics (2011-14), sold to hVivo in 2014, and Kinomica Ltd (2016-present). The latter has so far received >£10M of private funding and currently employs 25 people.
