Dr Teodora Popa, PhD is a London-based scientist and lecturer in Reproductive and Molecular Genetics. She is the Director of the Reproductive Science and Women’s Health MSc programme at University College London (UCL), where she trains the next generation of clinicians and scientists in the role of genetics, innovation, and emerging technologies in reproductive health.
 
Dr Popa also serves as a Genomic Application Specialist at UCL Genomics, one of the largest genomics facility in Europe, where she supports the translation of cutting-edge genomic tools into clinical and research practice.
 
Her research focuses on the genetics of human fertility, embryo development in IVF, and the integration of artificial intelligence into reproductive medicine. Her work has directly influenced personalised care strategies in fertility clinics worldwide and has contributed to peer-reviewed publications in leading journals.
 
A recognised voice in women’s health and reproductive genetics, Dr Popa has contributed to the UK Government’s Women’s Health Strategy and regularly advises clinics and institutions on the application of genomics in fertility care. She was recently named ‘Young Scientist of the Year’ by the British Fertility Society.
