,
Queen Mary University of London
Radu Zabet is a Reader of AI and Cancer Epigenetics at Blizard Institute within the Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry at Queen Mary University of London. Radu was awarded his PhD in Computer Science by the University of Kent, for investigating the physical limits of gene regulatory networks. In 2011, he was awarded an MRC Training Fellowship in Bioinformatics to study the role of the diffusion of transcription factors on gene regulation in the Department of Genetics, University of Cambridge. In September 2015, Radu started his own group at School of Life Sciences at University of Essex and, in July 2020, relocated his lab to Blizard Institute. Radu’s lab is interested to understand how different mechanisms contribute to gene regulation and aims to decode the relative contributions of DNA methylation, histone modifications, 3D genome organisation and transcription factors to gene regulation. His lab is highly interdisciplinary and combine computational biology, machine learning, AI, genomics and molecular biology.
