Richard Stephens has (so far) survived two cancers, a heart emergency, several co-morbidities, late effects, and four clinical trials.
A patient advocate since 1995, Richard chairs use MY data and the UK Cancer Research Advocates Forum. In Europe he chaired BBMRI-ERIC’s Stakeholder Forum, is Vice-Chair of CanSERV, and leads ESC’s Patient AI Crew involvement project. He sits on many other groups and bodies, working with patients, academics, industry, policy-makers, funders and regulators.
Richard is a Visiting Lecturer at KCL, a EUPATI Fellow, and the founding co-Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Research Involvement and Engagement. His professional careers included education, journalism and local government.
