Sarah is Professor of Medical and Family Sociology at the University of Edinburgh, and the Chair of the Nuffield Council on Bioethics. Sarah’s research focusses on the social and ethical contexts of medical technologies, data science, engagement, health and disease. She is co-head of the Centre for Biomedicine, Self and Society, Usher Institute, which conducts interdisciplinary research across the humanities and social sciences relevant to biomedicine, public health and health care
