Sonam Vadera

RCR AI Course Lead, The Royal College of Radiologists

Dr Sonam Vadera is a consultant radiologist with an interest in regulation and real-world evaluation of AI in healthcare. She completed a Fellowship in Clinical AI with the AI Centre for Value Based Healthcare and is an Honorary Clinical Research Fellow with the AI & Digital Health Research and Policy Group at the University of Birmingham. She is also the AI Programme Lecture Series Lead for the Royal College of Radiologists’ AI programme.  

Her current work examines the regulatory and policy considerations of large language models in healthcare within the Centre of Excellence for Regulatory Science and Innovation in AI and Digital Health (CERSI-AI), alongside research in post-market surveillance of AI as a medical device. She is particularly interested in ensuring that emerging AI technologies are safe, effective, and fit for real-world clinical use.
