James Staley is Director of Computational Genetics at UCB, where he leads the computational genetics strategy within the company’s genetics group. Since joining UCB in 2019, he has advanced from Principal Scientist to senior leadership, driving the application of human genetic data to drug discovery and target validation. Prior to his industry career, James was a Senior Research Associate at the University of Bristol, where he developed statistical methods and software for analyzing high-dimensional phenotypes and co-led the creation of the EWAS Catalog, a widely used database of epigenome-wide association studies.
