Susanna Slater

Consultant Medical Oncologist, The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust

Dr Susanna Slater is a Consultant Medical Oncologist at the Royal Marsden Hospital specialising in the treatment of GI malignancies and Acute Oncology. 

Susanna completed her undergraduate medical training at the University of Birmingham. Following completion of Core Medical Training, she undertook specialist Medical Oncology training at Imperial College London and later the Royal Marsden Hospital where she was appointed a Consultant in 2026. 

Susanna was awarded an MD(Res) degree from the University of London/Royal Marsden Hospital/Institute of Cancer Research following her clinical trials research evaluating the clinical validity and utility of ctDNA for predicting colorectal cancer recurrence and guiding adjuvant treatment strategies in patients with resected early colorectal cancer, in the context of the NIHR-funded UK-wide phase III TRACC clinical trial. She has published a number of original research papers in high-impact journals, was shortlisted for the Sylvia Lawler Prize at the Royal Society of Medicine and won a Conquer Cancer ASCO Merit Award for her work on ctDNA.
