Team Leader, Breast Cancer Research Data Science Group, Institute of Cancer Research

Syed Haider is a Team Leader of Breast Cancer Data Science team at the Institute of Cancer Research, London. He received a PhD in Computer Science and Technology focussing on graph theoretic networks for cancer prognosis from the University of Cambridge.

Following his PhD, he pursued postdoctoral training in understanding the role of hypoxic tumour microenvironment in the selection of metabolic alterations in human cancers, at the Oxford University. His primary focus area of research is identification of prognostic and predictive biomarkers for hard-to-treat breast cancers using applied computational modelling and machine learning algorithms. Further, he is also interested in developing in-silico methods to identify new therapeutics targets in cancer using synthetic lethal approaches.
