Terri Gaskell
I am driven by a fascination with biological systems and motivated by a desire to use my knowledge and business experience to accelerate new therapies to address as yet unmet medical needs. My experience includes pluripotent stem cells, developmental biology, molecular biology and genetics, giving me a broad base to adapt to new areas of research. In my current role at Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult I have oversight of a large and diverse project portfolio, covering every aspect of Advanced Therapy development, as well as leading and contributing to scientific strategy and taking a key role in licensing negotiations. Leading R&D, licensing and the creation of commercially viable products has been central to my career in the last decade and I bring this experience to every role.
I enjoy all aspects of the business of developing new products, helping to structure complex projects and their related finances and bringing some ‘scientific’ rigour to understanding and interpreting the numbers in financial reports e.g. quarterly portfolio finances.
I believe people are the key to success in any field and have used my innate relationship building and communication skills to bring about strong teams and strong people, inside and outside of those reporting directly to me. This was recognised in an Award for displaying the Catapult’s key value of “People” in 2018.
