The Festival of Genomics & Biodata
Masking Requirements
The masking requirements for The Festival of Genomics & Biodata will remain consistent with the government guidance in place at the time of the event. Currently, masking is not mandatory and is down to personal choice. However, Front Line Genomics reserves the right to require masks regardless of local guidance. If face coverings are required, attendees will be required to wear a covering over both their nose and mo
uth unless eating or drinking.
Venue Precautions
ExCeL is operating in line with the latest government guidance and has worked alongside the AEV (Association of Event Venues) to develop the All Secure Standard, an industry wide standard for the safe return of organised events. Ventilation throughout the building has been increased, improving fresh air circulation in line with latest CIBSE (Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers) guidance and recommendations. The venue will provide medical support onsite in the event of someone feeling unwell. All service partners including AV, power, rigging, logistics and media placements are required to follow the ExCeL code of conduct. All transactions for food and beverages on site are cashless. Suitable queuing systems will be in place. The ExCeL Cleaning Team have been trained to deliver enhanced cleaning procedures: all touch points and seating in conference and meeting areas are regularly wiped with chlorine-based cleaning fluid. Specific waste management procedures are in place to manage the safe disposal of PPE and testing materials.
Symptom Monitoring
We ask that attendees do not come to the event if they feel at all unwell. Do not leave home if you or someone you live with has any Covid-19 symptoms. If an attendee experiences any symptom of Covid-19 during The Festival, the attendee agrees to leave The Festival and make it known to Front Line Genomics that they have experienced a symptom. Readmittance will only be granted following proof of a negative result from a Covid-19 test taken after Front Line Genomics were notified of any symptoms experienced.
Personal Hygiene
We recommend that attendees use enhanced hand hygiene measures while in attendance. This includes washing hands regularly, using provided hand sanitizer, limiting contact between your hands and your eyes, nose and mouth, covering coughs or sneezes, and limiting physical contact between attendees. Hand sanitiser will be provided throughout the public areas of the venue. All attendees will have their own preferences to levels of acceptable contact and we encourage all attendees to be mindful of the wishes of others in this respect.
